HAPPY NEW YEAR 2008



Another year has ended & new beginnings sprout with renewed energies. Latest development is entries to open Juried show in GALVESTON. This one hopefully makes the cut.U probably can't tell much due to the size pictured here. She is "VICTORIA" ,stands 29" tall . Her costuming is all velvet, venice laces, all which are hand dyed with a brush. Hair is mohair. Head & hands are full sculpted paperclay(TM).

Another Slug


Gourd Lifer was joined by Miz Beak who is a FUNKY , WACKY faerie . She is opinionated & probably gossiping or giving her views on the situation at HCCC.

This little fellow has sat on a UFD shelf for several years totally in his arnamature frame. Finally heard his cry to FIX him. The result & he is now showing off at Houston Contemporary Crafts Center.

Labor Day weekend in TX wonderland

Have started a new figure & completed using a pringle can(TM) for the body.She is titled Faerie Queen of Pearls. I have not shot her pic as yet.
I have also finished my storybook doll for TAODA's set VI which will debut at the International Quilt Festival in Nov.
Next week I will enter two figures into Galveston Art League Open Juried show .
At this time I have one figure that was juried into the the GEEK show in Clear Lake across from the space center.It will remain on exhibit til later this month.
Pictures need to be taken & I will endeavor to insert a few here. LATER , Magee.

74th birthday occurred this month with cards ,gifts, and friendship love.

Afterwards


Latest project has been to create a jacket from a sweat shirt obtained at IQF . Here tis:
One cannot see all the embroidery work but it is there with words in script surrounding the images on black. This is my very first attempt at inserting a zipper and cutting a shirt apart to resew & decorate. I don't want anything to match .It is NOT a FASHION statement only a fun project & challenge!
